A bit about this role:

Our Certified Financial Planner is at the center of Brightside's work with clients. By building a trusting relationship that combines financial expertise with compassionate support, you will be able make a positive impact in the lives of our employee clients and their families. In this role you will serve our clients and provide comprehensive concierge financial services to them. You will help them develop strategies for getting out of debt, managing cash flow, bill negotiations, insurance, taxes, retirement, savings and improving behavior relative to their finances to save and plan for the future. You will have the support of other specialists around you as well as our home grown technology to help you with all avenues of care/needs for your clients. The meaningful work you will tackle:

  • Form a relationship with our clients to truly help guide them by providing options for their financial well being by providing financial education on relevant topics such as spending/saving/planning/credit score & debt pay down
  • Understand clients' motivation to help them make changes in their financial behavior and remove any barriers in the way of their success
  • Provide sound financial strategies to help clients meet their short term and long term goals
  • Contribute and/or lead the ongoing development of material/education/trainings that increase the overall organization's understanding of complex financial scenarios
  • Use your CFP expertise to support our Financial Assistants with complex client scenarios
  • Provide options and take action with negotiation strategies for clients on recurring bills
  • Provide emotional support to clients as it relates to their financial situation
  • Do the legwork on behalf of clients based on their unique situation, researching available options and solutions and teaching them skills for their own work in the future

What we're looking for in your background & what makes you a success:

  • A Certified Financial Professional (CFP) designation is required for this role
  • Being wired to serve and have a deep care for those you are supporting
  • Empathy in a completely judgement free way
  • You're able to did deep to help while maintaining boundaries
  • You can remotely build a trusting relationship (in a multitasking type of way) via phone/chat/email
  • Critical thinking is something you love - we're looking for creative problem solvers
  • You have the desire to support positive behavioral changes in a way that's a positive influence with your clients
  • You bring strong financial acumen to the role, but aren't afraid to step out and try something new
  • Eagerness to learn and seek feedback both for yourself and the organization
  • You are organized with strong follow-up capability and able to work at appropriate levels of detail relative to the task at hand
  • 3+ years in a customer focused role with demonstrated examples of how you improved the customer's situation
  • Strong verbal and written & computer skills - we're Google Chrome based!
  • Strong work history demonstrating your impact of enhancing the company through your contributions/suggestions/improvements of the organization
  • Ability to comply with company and industry standard policy and procedures while remaining solution oriented and creative with approaches
