We are currently hiring a client-facing CFO who will play a key role in helping the leading Ecommerce venture-stage firms build their businesses by providing in-depth financial and analytical guidance. As a Propeller CFO, you will consult with multiple clients by providing both financial and operation information to help them clearly understand their current state of business. You also serve as a strategic sounding board to help clients make data driven decisions that guide the overarching strategy for their business. As a trusted advisor, you will need to:

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with strategic planning and growth
  • Develop financial models with the support of the finance team (cashflow, headcount, revenue, pricing, budgets)
  • Oversee monthly rolling forecasts and financial analysis
  • Ensure the Propeller team creates KPI dashboards and automated scorecards to guide the key decisions of the business in a real-time fashion
  • Own the annual budgeting process for clients
  • Assist clients in capital raising, including the development and presentation of investor decks
  • Oversee deck preparation and attend Board of Directors meetings
  • Provide mentorship and learning opportunities for your Propeller colleagues
  • Be one of our industry experts in Direct to Consumer (Ecommerce)
  • Leverage your network to provide great resources for our clients
  • Actively develop our Ecommerce client base

Qualifications:

  • 20+ years in progressively responsible finance leadership roles
  • Specialized experience in the Ecommerce industry, including but not limited to: familiarity with CAC, product margins, major ecomm platforms, etc.
  • Experience with venture-backed start-ups
  • Thrive in a consultancy model handling multiple clients
  • Fundraising experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex thoughts and strategies into simple, actionable recommendations to Propeller team as well as our clients
  • Ability and desire to teach others within the organization to help grow the broader internal FP&A skill set
