Propeller Industries provides outsourced finance and accounting services for an elite portfolio of early-stage growth companies. We offer a broad scope of services ranging from CFO-level strategic planning to day-to-day transaction processing through our team of CFOs and accountants. The firm has offices in San Francisco, Santa Monica, New York, Austin, Boulder and Sun Valley, ID and currently serves 300+ clients across a range of industries including SaaS, ecommerce, technology, food & beverage, manufacturing, business services and healthcare. The Role:


The Propeller CFO acts as a consultant to multiple clients by providing both financial and operation information to help them clearly understand their current state of business. The CFO serves as a strategic sounding board to help clients make data driven decisions that guide the overarching strategy for their business. As a trusted advisor, you will need to:


Responsibilities:


  • Assist clients with strategic planning and growth
  • Develop financial models with the support of the finance team (cashflow, headcount, revenue, pricing, budgets, etc.)
  • Provide monthly rolling forecasts and financial analysis
  • Proactively create KPI dashboards and automated scorecards to guide the key decisions of the business in a real-time fashion
  • Own the annual budgeting process for clients
  • Assist client in capital raising, including the development and presentation of investor decks
  • Prepare and attend Board of Directors meetings
  • Provide mentorship and learning opportunities for your Propeller colleagues
  • Be one of our industry experts in SaaS
  • Leverage your network to provide great resources for our clients
  • Actively develop our SaaS client base


Qualifications:


  • 20+ years in progressively responsible finance leadership roles
  • Specialized experience in the SaaS industry
  • Experience with venture-backed start-ups
  • Thrive in a consultancy model handling multiple clients
  • Fundraising experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex thoughts and strategies into simple, actionable recommendations to Propeller team as well as our clients
  • Ability and desire to teach others within the organization to help grow the broader internal FP&A skill set
