Chainalysis Government Solutions (CGS) is a Chainalysis subsidiary that provides blockchain intelligence solutions, including technology, training, and services to law enforcement and intelligence customers in the U.S. Government.
The Director of Legal and Governance, CGS, under the oversight of the Chainalysis CLO, will provide dedicated support to CGS, advising both internal and external stakeholders on the forefront of cryptocurrency and its constantly evolving regulatory landscape. Our job is to ensure the company continues its rapid growth by employing sound and efficient judgment to support operations around the company and influence a groundbreaking industry as it matures and becomes more widely adopted.
As the Director of Legal and Governance, CGS, you will serve as an integral member of the CGS Leadership Team, reporting directly to the President of CGS, and serving as the Secretary of the CGS Board of Managers.
In this role, you’ll:
Effectively scale Legal support for CGS commensurate with CGS’s rapidly growing, fast-paced business
Become a trusted member of the CGS Senior Leadership Team, providing support and advice on a wide variety of legal, security, compliance, and contracting matters
Build and improve processes to accelerate CGS’s GTM function and improve its compliance posture
Effectively manage all CGS’s contracts and agreements, including direct and indirect contracts with public sector customers (e.g., FedCiv, DoD, IC, SLED), quasi-public sector customers, and the commercial entities that support these customers, e.g., solutions integrators, prime and subcontractors, and partners/resellers
Develop a complete understanding of how government acquisition regulations/processes interrelate with Chainalysis’ products, services, and business model
Implement regular training sessions with the relevant CGS teams
Create a clear vision for the future legal team members supporting CGS
Oversee a full audit of existing public sector agreements, and successfully implement CGS’s compliance program
Build strong relationships to ensure both internal client and external customer satisfaction, while promoting scalable processes and procedures
We’re looking for candidates who have:
A juris doctorate (J.D.) degree and relevant experience with high-growth companies
Above all else, exceptional judgment and critical thinking skills
Expert knowledge of FAR and SLG acquisition regulations, procurement processes, and best practices, especially as the foregoing relate to commercial services, and in particular SaaS and related professional services
A deep understanding of FedRAMP, DoD SRG, CMMC, and ICD 503 accreditations, and the cybersecurity requirements found in NIST SP 800-171 and NIST 800-53
Experience supporting public sector sales teams (and understanding of the sales process) at a B2B, rapid-growth SaaS/Software company
Experience developing an effective GTM public sector process with regard to contract formation and contract administration
An understanding of FOCI mitigation and obtaining or maintaining a DCSA Facility Clearance
Experience with litigation, corporate governance, outside counsel management, as well as the legal and security aspects of, among other things, internal investigations, employment issues, privacy matters, public policy efforts, procurement, real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate communications and marketing
An active Top Secret (TS) clearance, or who are willing and able to obtain one
The interpersonal qualities of being independent, patient, thoughtful, and adept at managing shifting priorities in a demanding, fast-paced environment, but at the same time possess the judgment to know when and how to escalate issues
Familiarity with, or an interest in, the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry
