What You'll Do

Epic Games is looking for an Implementation Artist to help us ship character cosmetics for Fortnite. As an Implementer, you will work both with our internal character art team, as well as character art vendors across the globe, to quality check and integrate character art assets into our pipeline. Your technical knowledge of Unreal & DCC apps, as well as your artistic eye, will increase the quality and efficiency of our production process.

In this role, you will

• Technical specification validation of content
• Content Budgets & LODs
• QA on model & texture submissions from external sources.
• Identifying error(s) on surface geometry and finding solutions to address error(s)
• Position is not expected to author final assets, but to receive prototype and final assets and implement them into the game.
• General knowledge of software to apply minor content fixes to collision, lod, texture maps, and UVs where necessary
• can make minor texture edits if required
• Able to grow, can be tasked with low risk assets for growth.
• Train new implementers on the process and tools, and ramp up outsourcing companies
• Aggressively seek ways to improve and automate the implementation process to make it faster and less error prone
• Open communication to various disciplines regarding status and known issues with content

What we're looking for

• Detail oriented, QA mindset for content
• Understanding of how content dependencies work
• Basic art knowledge, basic knowledge of various 2D and 3D applications, and how it relates to real time game art
• Moderate experience with UE4
