Senior Full Stack Engineer - Security Tools

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build products and tools to support our security efforts at Character. As one of the founding members of our security team, you’ll partner with engineering teams across the organization to design and implement tooling that improves developer experience while aligning development workflows with security objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to jump into the cutting-edge field of AI security and help shape the next generation of security architecture.

Among the critical tasks you’ll take on:

• Build user-facing products to maximize user control over data
• Develop technical systems to operationalize privacy controls
• Work cross-functionally with teams across Character to design and build critical path security tooling within both product and infrastructure code bases
• Conceptualize and implement improvements to existing cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure
• Design and implement internal applications to support secure development workflows

Requirements:

• 5+ years of industry experience developing products and tooling
• Front-end experience working with React in TypeScript
• Strong knowledge of Python and/or Golang
• Experience implementing back-end web services
• Familiarity with CI/CD platforms, including GitHub, GitHub Actions, and/or ArgoCD
• Knowledge of Kubernetes concepts
• Experience working with various types of data stores
• Familiarity with major cloud service providers such as GCP, AWS, and/or Azure
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Bonus Points:

• Familiarity with RPC frameworks such as Apache Thrift and/or gRPC
• Experience working with Helm to manage Kubernetes deployments
• Familiarity with React Native or NextJS
• Experience tuning back-end services for performance under high traffic volume
