JOB HIGHLIGHT
You'll be an essential part of our Development Operations team that supports our accounting and fundraising teams. You will help charity: water track every dollar raised by processing and reviewing donations.
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Head of Development Operations, you will assist in maintaining a best-in-class operations function to support our fundraising and accounting teams. You will be responsible for the timely, efficient, and accurate processing of mail and donations. Additionally, you’ll support the team with a variety of different tasks from tax receipts to quality control.
YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR…
● Sorting, batching, and processing charity: water mail by following set controls and guidelines to protect sensitive donor data
● Implementing best practices for data entry, storage, and retrieval to maintain data accuracy and integrity
● Verifying the accuracy and completeness of donor information and gift details against source documents before entry
● Promptly depositing checks and maintaining an organized workflow for thoroughness
● Scanning, filing, and disposing of mail documents according to document management protocol
● Preparing and distributing IRS-compliant and timely tax receipts and acknowledgments to donors
● Responding to donor and internal donation or tax receipt-related inquiries in a timely manner
● Assisting with shipping and receiving mail and packages as necessary
● Providing additional logistical support for any in-person events and festivals in Nashville
YOU MUST HAVE…
● A bachelor's degree
● 1 year of related work experience in Accounting or Data Entry
● Proficient Excel skills
● Strong attention to detail - you care about the “little things” and make sure they get completed on time and in a professional manner
● A valid driver's license
IT’S AN ADDED PLUS IF YOU HAVE…
● Experience in a fundraising environment
● Formal training in Excel software
● Exceptional communication and cross-collaboration skills

TEAM OVERVIEW
The Development Operations team is at the core of charity: water’s business model and works to ensure we make good on our donor promise at scale. The team works diligently to bring all teams into alignment around our data infrastructure and donor operations. They are constantly looking for efficiencies and ways to systematize an optimal end-to-end major donor journey, from donation processing to final donor reporting.
