Our Software Development Engineers are driven to learn, grow, and continuously contribute to evolving the Schwab experience and technology.• Build high performing and scalable responsive web applications using modern front-end technologies like: Angular/ReactJS/VueJS with the goal of achieving maintainability, availability, scalability, and security.• Strong ability to work with UX designers and product managers to develop dynamic user experiences• Troubleshoots business, production issues, and suggest opportunities for improvement.• Work with other Engineers, Architecture, Product Management, QA, and Operations teams to develop innovative solutions that meet business needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules and alignment to development principles and product goalsWhat you haveRequired Qualifications:• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field OR related experience• 3-5 years of professional experience in front-end development technologies like NodeJS, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 and REST API with experience with at least one popular JavaScript framework (e.g. ReactJS, VueJS, or Angular) and test frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Jasmine, Selenium, etc.)• Experience with development tools such as npm, gulp and grunt with view layout and rendering technologies (e.g., responsiveness, progressive enhancement, browser/device support) with deep understanding of front-end architecture and data-driven development• All aspects of front-end web development testing (unit, functional, integration, end-to-end, cross browser/device)• Must be a critical thinker and solutions-oriented analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills• Ability to work independently and to effectively interact and collaborate with all types of stakeholders, both technical and business, peers and management Detailed oriented self-starterPreferred Qualifications:• Proficient in a broad range of software design approaches and common UX patterns.• Knows when (and when not) to use front-end software design patterns (e.g., asynchronicity, data binding, modules, MVC, objects, promises)• Extensive knowledge of functional programming paradigm (or OOP with a desire to move to functional programming)• You’re a self-starter with a “can do” attitude who can take ownership of projects and drive them to completion with acute attention to detail (not just what but understanding why part too) and results oriented with excellent problem-solving abilitiesIn addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.What’s in it for youAt Schwab, we’re committed to empowering our employees’ personal and professional success.
