Check Adjustments Specialist I

Responsible for the daily processing of all check adjustments to and from the Federal Reserve and any internal deposit and check corrections, in a timely manner.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Retrieves and processes daily incoming Federal Reserve adjustments.
  • Researches and processes daily incoming check adjustment emails.
  • Sends outgoing check adjustments to the Federal Reserve in a timely manner.
  • Reviews reconciliation once per week and reports completed adjustment list to the Balancing Analysis team.
  • Records any write-offs under the current adjustment threshold amount.
  • Communicates directly with other banking/financial institutions to resolve issues, if necessary.
  • Maintains thorough and accurate files and records regarding check adjustments.
  • Escalates complex check adjustments when necessary.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work.
  • Follows Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
  • Knowledge of bank policies and procedures
  • Ability to use a 10-key calculator
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with exacting deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to repeated interruptions
  • Ability to work without close supervision
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed
  • Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Position Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience using computer, including Microsoft Word and Excel, required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of work experience with check/deposit processing or equivalent preferred.
