Ketchum is the most awarded creative communication agency of the past 20 years, but we recognize we need to change the game with every campaign – so that we can keep our clients relevant in a fluid marketing landscape. This requires vision. This requires presence. This requires the talents of an accomplished Chief Creative Officer, who can step in and help us craft the creative marketing function of the future. We’re seeking someone who’s an idea juggernaut, but who’s also a data-led strategist and a magnet for brilliant talent. That’s right, we want the yin AND the yang.

In this role, you’ll oversee a team of 40+ thinkers, makers, designers, copywriters, and producers. You’ll be responsible for growing this stable of rock stars and advancing the function inside of Ketchum, but also Omnicom. That’s because we’re consistently tapped as a strategic partner to both our agency clients and those of our sister agencies, from OMD to BBDO. Yes, we’re expanding. Fast.

About the Job

  • Oversee our NA creative and productions teams, as Ketchum’s de facto Head of Creative
  • Build impactful, award-winning campaigns that deliver on client comms and business objectives
  • Take a seat at the leadership table in managing the function – including everything from vision-building to department budget oversight
  • Anticipate the future needs of a modern creative comms, and provide POVs to leadership
  • Inspire our teams to go further and to raise the level of insight-led creative; inspire our clients to approve work that matters
  • Team up with our New Business squad to deliver client-winning ideas inside the pitch room
  • Collaborate with our most senior-level clients as a trusted consultant
  • Lead in the development and professional growth of teams as well as identify/recruit game-changing new talent
  • Partner with analytics and strategy teams to bring insight-led ideas to life
  • Drive internal efforts to teach, train and advise in creative best practices
  • Effectively budget new scopes of work and manage staff utilization to meet targets
  • Evangelize our cause through industry thought leadership, whether through published work or opportunities or speaking opportunities
  • Contribute to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture, where every employee feels a sense of belonging

Qualifications

  • Strong portfolio of award-winning creative work
  • Proven record of growing existing business and winning new business
  • Experience leading and inspiring a team of creatives and producers
  • Track record of collaborating with senior-level clients
  • Ability to drive ideas and actions around vision to make it a reality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The salary range for this position is $225,000 to $325,000. This position may be bonus eligible depending on individual employee performance and Ketchum business performance. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, past training, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity and local geographic market data. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
