Position Summary
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will establish and execute an information technology strategy that supports the organization’s objectives and delivers optimal business results. As the CIO, you will assess and determine the technological needs of the organization and make recommendations based upon those needs. You will collaborate with critical stakeholders across the business to define the long-term strategic IT roadmap, set architectural and technical direction and ensure the delivery of all IT functions as a support function to the organization. We expect you to be well-versed in current technological trends and familiar with various functional IT disciplines including enterprise architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, applications and more.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Define the technology vision & strategy; from a high level, prioritize technology initiatives and oversee the assessment, implementation, and management of future technologies to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.

Coordinate and collaborate with senior leaders throughout the business to identify and address critical gaps, including prioritization, strategic planning, execution, and controls needed to stabilize and optimize hardware, software, systems, and metrics.

Lead ongoing improvement initiatives for information technology systems, infrastructure, network efficiency, and software.

Make recommendations and presents business advantages for technology initiatives and improvements. Ensures technology standards and best practices are met.

Provide technical guidance on high priority projects and orient the organization to trends in the information technology industry.

Lead the IT team in identifying, comparing, selecting and implementing technology solutions to meet current and future needs.

Ensure the implementation of IT best practices, including general systems, controls, and cybersecurity across the organization.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices.

Establish department goals and manage a dynamic team accountable for service delivery to both internal and external customers.

Understanding of the technical challenges involved in scaling an early/growth stage software or similar business.

Build and maintain highly effective cross-functional relationships with colleagues to ensure effective communication and value-added working relationships.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems or equivalent; MBA/Master's Degree preferred.-
Twenty (20) plus years of broad-based Information Technology experience

Ten (10) plus years of relevant leadership experience within an Information Technology function; preferred experience in an Executive-level position.

Strong ability to translate technical challenges and concepts across the organization

Experience developing innovative Information Technology processes/procedures that will be scalable with Plug’s continued growth.

Ability to influence others and operate effectively in a matrix organization.

Strong presentation skills with a high comfort level presenting to large groups and senior audiences.

Proven success managing resources across multiple projects with varying prioritization, visibility, and locations.

Experience leading large-scale system deployments and optimization projects across multiple business domains.

Strong understanding of IT fundamentals such as infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, applications, etc.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, O365, Cisco and Aruba networking devices, and hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, etc.)

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and develop a high-quality team.

Excellent problem-solving capabilities and judgment; ability to make sound decisions independently; solutions oriented.

Pay Rate:
$150,000.00 - $350,000.00
