POWER Engineers, Inc. is currently seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO), reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The CIO is responsible for leading the establishment and execution of the company’s internal Information Technology (IT) strategy, ensuring its integration with the overall business strategy, and the delivery of all information and technology capabilities required by the business. Key areas of focus will be on overseeing and optimizing POWER’s enterprise architecture, security systems and governance practices, application and business systems portfolio, data strategy and governance framework, infrastructure, end-user systems and productivity suites, audio/visual and collaboration toolsets, and providing support services to the company. The CIO brings knowledge and vision on how to deliver IT services to meet both current and future business needs and the ability to work well in a fast-paced hybrid work environment. Additionally, the CIO’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Role Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the Technology Leadership Team to help establish a comprehensive vision for how technology will transform the company and ensure our long-term sustainability in our industry. Translates this vision into a compelling vision for the future of technology with emphasis on optimizing our infrastructure and asset utilization.
  • Day-to-day management of the IT operations, data, applications, infrastructure, security, end-user computer system teams with a continuous focus on best-in-class customer service and delivery.
  • Creates and executes the annual business plan to achieve both short and long-term strategies for the Business Unit.
  • Identify technology platforms, offerings, and services to support company growth objectives and deliver innovation.
  • Implement and manage a comprehensive Information Security, Compliance, and Technology Business Continuity program that ensures all company information is secure, company assets are protected, and that the company is in compliance with appropriate government and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess current processes and challenge for continuous improvement, innovation, process excellence, and establishing a path for best-in-class effectiveness and efficiency where needed.
  • Design metrics and process standards across all end-to-end internal information technology processes to ensure effective monitoring of the completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and cost of service for the information technology function.
  • Define and prioritize business issues and challenges, identify potential solutions across a range of options (including automation, operational excellence, and process design) and lead through the successful implementation of those solutions.
  • Set and monitor the overall IT operational plan, strategy, and budget to deliver on the overall business strategy and company-wide goals.
  • Oversee contract negotiations with IT vendors, contractors, and service providers.
  • Engage and work along cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive approach to systems development.
  • Maintains and grows executive level relationships with key technology solution providers to ensure needs are consistently met, and future opportunities are accessed to keep us competitive within our industry.
  • Supports the development of the next generation of leaders, through the development of robust succession and development plans that effectively manage high risk areas.
  • Manages the performance of the business unit to ensure continued alignment with expectations across all Divisions, which includes managing activities such as ongoing review of organizational structure, team member performance, compensation assessment to ensure competitiveness, and consistently improving retention and team member engagement.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, or another applicable field.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8 to 10+ years of leadership experience managing large teams including vendors and partners.
  • 10+ years of experience with developing and operating on-premises, hosted, and cloud-based application, ERP, data platforms, business intelligence, infrastructure, and end-user platforms.
  • 15+ years of experience overall in the Information Technology field.
  • Sufficient experience in strategy and strategic planning, organization design, and development.
  • Proven experience in leading large, complex and/or transformational initiatives in dynamic environments while taking advantage of digital opportunities to innovate business operations.
  • Demonstratable experience leading and mentoring technical leaders.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and instill confidence with peers and all key stakeholders.
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources may not be in direct control of this role.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning, and execution skills.
  • Strong business acumen, including industry, domain-specific knowledge of the enterprise and its business units.
  • Expertise in budget planning and financial management.
  • Deep understanding of current and emerging technologies and how other enterprises are employing them to drive digital business.
  • Ability to identify and leverage resources internally and externally to the enterprise to enhance capabilities that drive digital business.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the IT workforce.

POWER is a fun engineering firm. That might seem contradictory to some, but it works for us!

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $220K-$300K per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
