Blueboard is seeking an experienced Marketing leader to join our Executive team as Chief Marketing Officer. You’ll help amplify an already incredible team of marketers by developing and coaching them as they execute. You’ll own building and evolving our early brand, customer, and product marketing functions. In addition, you’ll lead our content, demand generation, design, lifecycle, and marketing operations functions that are executing well.
The ideal candidate has led and scaled marketing teams for B2B companies that have admired brands. You’ve had experience in creating, shaping, and winning categories. You are a player-coach who loves to build agile and creative teams. You genuinely care about the success of others and help people see and maximize their potential. You should have a deep understanding of creating marketing plans and strategies to build awareness and acquire great customers. We see our Marketing team as a huge lever across the business. As such, you will collaborate with the Executive team and leaders in Sales, Customer Success, Account Management, and Product to align your efforts with theirs to hit goals. Own all of Blueboard’s marketing efforts, including defining and leading marketing strategy, building and leading the marketing organization, and tying all our efforts into our GTM strategy

Develop our approach to creating and shaping our category - what overarching problem in the market we are solving and why we’re the company to solve it uniquely

Evolve our brand strategy and positioning that resonates and motivates our target buyers to act

Oversee the development of product marketing, messaging, and storytelling for a broad set of target customers for Blueboard’s HR and Sales buyers

You will represent the voice of the market within the organization, bringing your insights to sales, customer teams, product, engineering, and leadership.

Partner closely with Sales & Account Management to help them achieve their revenue goals

Provide clear direction for team members by setting targets, prioritizing tasks, assigning responsibility, and monitoring workflow

Ensure the growth and development of team members through team leadership, skills coaching, and career mentorship to ensure performance expectations are met, and team members can pursue personal career goals

At least 10-15 years of proven experience in B2B demand generation, product marketing, brand marketing, and related areas, including experience leading the Marketing function at a company with $100M ARR.

Has led the annual planning of marketing strategies and initiatives and has presented plan and reporting to Board.

A proven ability to think beyond scope of your function or team to be an effective leader and thought partner at the Executive level

Having a track record of exceptional performance that has included 0>1 building and 1>N scaling.

Has led impactful brand-building campaigns and category-creating initiatives

Ability to coach teams of varying levels of experience (from entry-level to Director), passionate about development and training
