Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Build, manage, and merge various connections across Insurance Holdings and Truist Financial to ensure the success of the organization. Develop strategies to quickly build relationships of trust across business functions, bring connectivity to the work and respond to high-stakes and public-facing environments while managing corporate reputation. The coordination and strategy for these multiple facets of culture vs. independent work streams will be critical to the success of the Chief Insurance Officer.
2. Navigate the C-suite vision for Truist Insurance by coordinating/orchestrating projects or commitments directly involving the CEO and direct reports. Focus on managing the flow of information and ensuring alignment among the often disparate stakeholders and, when such alignment is absent, seeking to drive consensus and where not successful, sharing with the CEO and recommending mitigating approaches.
3. Prepare for and facilitate “critical” Insurance Holdings meetings which include, but are not limited to, Board of Directors, IH Leadership, regulatory, and strategic planning meetings. Ensure the CIO, critical stakeholders and leadership team is prepared for agenda items/topics as necessary. Assess the critical nature of agenda items for CIO and make critical decisions on whether the CIO is to be included or delegated to a member of the leadership team.
4. Proactively identify issues that could impact the successful execution of the CIO’s commitments. Elevate issues of which the CIO should be aware, and frame/position ideas to resolve the problem and/or mitigate the risk. Track process and progress of key initiatives to ensure timely delivery of assignments on behalf of the CIO and Leadership team.
5. Manage communications on behalf of the CIO in coordination with Chief Communications Officer where necessary. Communications include, but are not limited to, the CIO update at Board meetings, follow-up correspondence related to the CIO’s various meetings, and various speaking engagements involving external audiences. Accurately reflect the CIO’s position in internal meetings to help drive understanding of CIO’s views.
