Sheet Metal Manager

Childers Roofing & Sheet Metal, a Tecta America Company, was founded in February 2003 and quickly became the premier roofing contractor in the North Florida market. Based in Jacksonville, Childers is known for their dedicated service and responsiveness offering a full line of commercial roofing maintenance, repairs and installations.  Childers Roofing and Sheet Metal is currently looking for a Sheet Metal Manager to join the team.

The Sheet Metal Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the Sheet Metal Department and Sheet Metal Team.  Duties to include, but are not limited to:

• Develop, implement and manage all sheet metal operations
• Coordinate all work under the supervision of the Safety Director and ensure all safety rules are followed
• Prepare and maintain sheet metal work and team to ensure timely delivery of materials for project
• Responsible for maintenance of sheet metal equipment and company assets
• Understand and incorporate all technology related components into all work; examples to include TFM scheduling, correcting and approving time; Samsara and Navision systems
• Review with Estimating and Project Management team all necessary sheet metal requirements for each project and coordinate all production of same and understand full scope of work for each project
• Maintain a log of all sheet metal operations for conformity and transparency
• Coordinate all sheet metal activities with all other branches of operations including Production, Service, Safety, Support Departments and team
• Develop, implement and maintain all sheet metal shop drawings, color choices and mockup approvals digitally and in company's computer system
• Develop/train sheet metal team to continuously improve our work efforts and maintain a level of excellence with sheet metal production
• Develop and maintain quality control to ensure all sheet metal activities are in conformance with all applicable codes, specifications and drawings
• Conduct weekly meetings with sheet metal team to review progress, schedules of work and scope of projects
• Work with Sheet Metal Superintendent to maintain project execution
• Research and develop specifications for current and new materials, to include safety procedures
• Perform all related sheet metal and roofing work as required and as directed

Qualifications:

• 3-5+ years of commercial experience in metal and metal roof systems
• Must be able to climb ladders, work in the heat and have no fear of heights
• Must work in a team environment; be reliable; be detail-oriented
• Valid Driver's License and ability to successfully pass pre-employment requirements
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
