The Student and Staff Engagement Specialist is responsible for developing and managing programs to enhance student and staff engagement across the organization. Key responsibilities include working with services to create plans for engaging with students while ensuring compliance. In addition, this team member will manage a variety of opportunities that create awareness with students of ChildServe as a Top Workplace. This role will also focus on planning and implementing staff engagement activities, supporting service action plans, developing communication resources, and fostering mentorship opportunities to build stronger connections between staff and students.
What You'll Do
STUDENT ENGAGEMENT
Program Design and Compliance
Collaborate with service leaders to develop a workforce plan for student experiences at ChildServe.
Ensure student experiences across the organization comply with applicable background and health safety requirements.
Review and update contracts for student experiences with colleges and high schools.
Build strong partnerships with service leaders to provide recommendations and facilitate communication on human resources policy, processes, systems, and laws, particularly for paid versus unpaid internships and F1 Visa status.
Recruitment and Selection
Coordinate career fair and conference events, including registration, identifying and training ChildServe representatives, preparing materials, and tracking ROI.
Develop and implement innovative recruiting strategies to attract students with the intent to transition to successful employment.
Manage internship postings, seeking to maximize and diversify market exposure.
Serve as the primary contact for student experience inquiries.
Program Development
Plan, organize, and execute student-centered programs and events to enhance learning experiences and foster strong connections with ChildServe.
Partner with Learning & Development to ensure interns receive a comprehensive orientation that includes information on our mission, vision, values, service areas, and Talent Community.
Guide and assist hiring leaders in creating positive and mutually beneficial student learning experiences.
Compile and maintain internship training materials.
Manage the High School School-to-Work program.
Establish and maintain consistent processes to evaluate student experiences and programs to ensure alignment with engagement and strategic pipeline goals.
Employer Awareness
Act as the primary administrative contact for all student learning programs, internally and externally.
Initiate and participate in talent acquisition activities to meet organizational workforce needs.
Build relationships with high schools, universities, student clubs, and community organizations to promote and recruit for student learning programs.
STAFF ENGAGEMENT
Plan, execute, and attend staff engagement activities, documenting activities and implementing process improvements.
Support Staff Relations Specialists with the implementation of service engagement action plans.
Develop staff engagement content and resources for effective communication with leaders and staff.
Collaborate with other organizational teams to promote staff engagement.
Promote mentorships and activities that create meaningful connections between staff and students.
What You'll Need
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education or related field.
Two years of career counseling, recruiting, human resources, or administrative experience.
Ability to travel independently in Iowa with limited frequency.
Proven experience creating social media strategies to generate awareness.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
