Role Overview:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Analytics Engineer to join our team and play a key role in propelling Chili Piper to the next level of data-driven decision-making. As an Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and extending our data model to serve our analytics needs.

You’ll primarily work with our Data Engineer and business stakeholders in various domains to define solutions to unlock operational efficiencies or analytic insights.

This role offers a balance of impactful new development, as well as fielding requests from business users.

What You’ll Do:

Collaborate with team members to collect business requirements, define successful analytics outcomes, and design data models which support those initiatives.

Develop an understanding of our data model and optimize our data models and pipelines for scale.

Design & build data models using SQL, dbt and Snowflake.

Create and maintain architecture and systems documentation

Improve existing systems' performance, observability, reliability, and scalability.

Own one or more stakeholder relationship in Operations, Sales, Marketing, Product and Customer Success business functions

Develop and maintain a scalable, robust and efficient data platform serving analytic and operational needs across the organization.

Work independently and share your knowledge across the business and mentor colleagues in areas of deep technical expertise.

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years in the Data space as an analyst, engineer, scientist, or equivalent

  • 5+ years experience designing, implementing, operating, and extending commercial enterprise dimensional models

  • 5+ years working with a large-scale (1B+ Rows) Data Warehouse, preferably in a cloud environment

  • Demonstrated experience leading 4 or more analytics projects from beginning to operationalization

  • Demonstrated experience designing and socializing Entity Relationship Diagrams and reference SQL scripts to scale data acumen and adoption

  • Experience working with commercial data warehouses, ETL tools, and data visualization tools

  • Extensive experience in 2 or more major data subject areas (marketing, sales, finance, product, people, etc.)

  • You have strong knowledge of common data integration patterns (CDC, ELT, etc.)

  • You thrive in ambiguous situations and possess a proactive problem-solving attitude, taking ownership where required.
    You can communicate effectively with both business stakeholders and technical peers.

Desired experience:

  • Experience with batch / streaming services.
    Fluent SQL Skills with an additional competency in any scripting language.

  • Strong perspective on analytics engineering development cycle (data modeling, version control, documentation + testing, best practices for codebase development)

  • Knowledge in modern and classic Data Modeling - Kimball, Data Vault, OBT etc.

  • Experience with the modern data stack (Fivetran / Snowflake / dbt / Looker / Hightouch or equivalents)

  • Experience with product / marketing analytics would be an asset.
