Your Mission: 

The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that CASL's facilities and fleet vehicles operate safely and efficiently. By conducting regular inspections, performing routine repairs, and maintaining the organization's infrastructure, this position helps preserve the overall functionality and safety of CASL’s campus. The Facilities Maintenance Technician works to resolve maintenance issues promptly, ensures compliance with safety regulations, and contributes to the development of preventive maintenance programs to avoid equipment breakdowns. In this role, you will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to maintainthe highest standards of facility upkeep, ensuring CASL remainsa welcoming and functional environment for all who use it.

Your Impact: 

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will: 


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform Facility Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to proactively identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and potential issues to prevent disruptions in operations. 
  • Execute Repairs and Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including the repair of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and other building components to ensure continuous functionality. 
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely repairs, clearly communicating timelines and technical requirements. 
  • Respond to Work Orders: Address maintenance work orders promptly, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently to minimize downtime. 
  • Ensure Safety and Compliance: Uphold building safety regulations and codes, ensuring all repairs meet legal and organizational standards. 
  • Maintain Documentation: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities through work order systems to ensure compliance and track the status of repairs. 
  • Implement Preventive Programs: Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs to reduce the risk of equipment breakdowns and ensure the longevity of assets. 
  • Manage Inventory: Monitor and maintain an organized inventory of supplies and tools, ensuring availability for necessary repairs and proactive maintenance. 
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with external contractors to obtain competitive quotes, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to timelines. 
  • Stay Updated: Stay informed on industry trends and advancements in facility maintenance to bring innovative solutions and improvements to the organization. 
  • Support Fleet Operations: Provide back-up support for fleet vehicle maintenance and assist the fleet team with vehicle inspections and repairs as needed. 
  • Assist with Special Projects: Collaborate with the Manager, Building Engineer, and other team members on special tasks and projects as assigned. 


Must Haves - To thrive in this role, you should have:

Education & Experience 
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) 
  • Enrolled in or completed technical training related to facilities management, HVAC, refrigeration, or electrical systems preferred; certification is a plus. 
  • Minimum of five years of experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or lighting control systems. 

Skills & Knowledge 
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting control systems. Ability to identify, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues in real time. 
  • Capable of quickly assessing maintenance problems, determining appropriate solutions, and executing repairs efficiently. 
  • Experience developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment breakdowns and extend the life of facilities and equipment. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and non-technical customers. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and work independently to complete maintenance projects. 
  • Knowledge of building safety regulations and codes, ensuring all repairs and inspections meet required standards. 
  • Comfortable operating basic hand tools, small handheld power tools, and ladders. 
  • Willingness to assist with fleet vehicle maintenance and collaborate with the fleet team when needed. 


Physical Demands
  • Ability to exert 75-100 pounds of force occasionally. 
  • Significant walking and standing required. 
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. 


Environment & Scheduling
  • Standard business hours, Monday through Friday (9:00 am - 5:00 pm), with flexibility to work additional hours, including weekends, as necessary.
