Your Mission:
As the VP of Health & Clinical Integration, you will report directly to the COO. Your role will be pivotal in aligning health & clinical areas, disciplines, sites of care, & team processes to achieve CASL’s strategic objectives. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Vice President of Program Strategy to foster cross-functional integration. Your leadership will drive the development, implementation, & measurement of our health & clinical integration initiatives.

Your Impact:
As a VP of Health & Clinical Integration you will:
Organizational & Strategic Leadership
Establish an integrated health model that furthers CASL’s next-generation care strategies to address individual & family Social Drivers of Health (SDoH) needs holistically
Lead current health & clinical integration projects, including but not limited to:
Research & provide recommendations to CASL’s Executive Leadership & Board on primary healthcare partnership models that allow for the provision of quality & impactful primary care to CASL’s clients & community versus CASL becoming a primary care (FQHC) provider itself & then execute the buildout & oversight of it
Buildout of CASL’s Community Health Navigation program as part of the South Side Health Equity Collaborative, a five-year collaboration between six health & clinical providers on Chicago’s south side to address & improve health disparities
Expansion & refinement of CASL’s rapidly growing (depth & breadth) Behavioral Health & Clinical Service program to create a comprehensive behavioral health model
Influence & drive health & clinical integration across the system, working closely with clinical & administrative leadership to design & implement change
Responsible for activities of health & clinical services including approach, facilitation of constituents, analysis of clinical process & services, negotiation, financials, & resourcing
Develop key performance indicators to measure the success of health & clinical integration across CASL, ensuring CASL is meeting industry standards of care, overseeing the implementation process improvement efforts identified by the teams, & identifying & executing operational efficiencies
Oversee or participate in multiple operational & Board/ad hoc committees & workgroups
Develop, continually test, & refine integration & operational efforts to meet the needs of the system, employees, referring providers, & most importantly the patients/clients
Drive integration & alignment of various clinical & operational strategies for the system
Work collaboratively with the Center for Social Impact team to integrate CASL’s Salesforce data-informed processes with needed EHR/EMR platforms that allow for digital integration to drive collaborative care approaches & quality patient/client care
Develop a collaborative team-based environment that works effectively across a system-wide programmatic approach, closely with health & clinical leaders & program leaders
Operations & Management:
Leads & supports the Director of Behavioral Health & Clinical Services & rapidly expanding team in developing, operating, & integrating behavioral health services into CASL’s services
Lead & support the Advance Practice Nurse in providing behavioral health & basic primary care services
Lead & support the Associate Director of Community Health Navigator in the buildout & operation of patient & data coordination in furtherance of CASL’s role in the South Side Health Equity Collaborative & achievement of its goals
Explores, implements, & monitors the sustainability of revenue strategies for CASL’s health division, including earned income through managed care, private pay/copays, & government grants/contracts
Collaborate with the Advancement team to identify potential philanthropic funding sources to support identified project areas/needs
Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to identify opportunities for external advertising of CASL’s health-related services
Represents CASL at local, state, & national health-related meetings & coordinates CASL efforts with local, state, & national organizations including, but not limited to, the Illinois Primary Healthcare Association (IPHCA) & The Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO)
Serve on the Steering Committee & be the lead point for CASL with the Southside Health Equity Collaborative & collaborate/report to other CASL sub-committee members
Monitors trends, promising practices, & policy issues related to health center finance, operations, & transformation
Serves as a senior leader, which includes actively participating on the leadership team, & serving as a role model & mentor for staff This also includes providing linkages & bridge-building among the various divisions of CASL
Participates as a member of the leadership team in the development of the annual operating plan, as well as longer-term strategic plans; prepares reports as required to the Board & Committees on activities to accomplish the strategic plan
Establishes effective, high-touch relationships & communication with key partners including but not limited to members, funders, health care & public health leaders, & key decision makers
Performs supervisory duties related to hiring staff, managing performance, counseling, & providing development opportunities
Working with the health & clinical division leaders, oversees the implementation of grants, submits reports to funders as required, manages division & program budgets; serves as lead grant writer &/or editor
Must Haves
To thrive in this role, you should have:
Education/Experience
Minimum of a master’s degree in healthcare, business, or a relevant discipline
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a healthcare leadership role in a healthcare entity
Substantial working knowledge of integrated care models, specialty, & community health networks
Sound understanding of the fundamentals of healthcare operations, clinical program development, & clinical integration planning, implementation, & ongoing oversight & management activities
Experience in working with matrixed teams across an organization to identify opportunities, create goals, & execute plans successfully & timely
Skills/Knowledge
Extensive knowledge & experience leading & managing complex organizational change & relationship development & management
Demonstrated ability to skillfully counsel, collaborate, inspire, & build confidence in others; create alliances, obtain support & respect from diverse groups, & foster an understanding & commitment to the organization & teams involved
Possess a track record of developing a good rapport with physicians, clinical, & administrative teams with the ability to grow & maintain relationships
Demonstrated successful program development, change management, & relationship building in previous roles
Proven success with administrative & clinical leaders to pursue operational excellence & exceptional patient services & outcomes Leads with transparency, integrity, & authenticity
Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal Capable of functioning in ambiguous environments & handling multiple diverse tasks simultaneously
Results-driven & system-thinking skills with the ability to provide thought leadership across a large, diverse, & complex organization
Nice to Haves
Familiarity with clinic payer sources, including Medicaid/Medicare is highly preferred
