Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals.The candidate selected for this role will be invited to participate in development program that offers immersive exposure to diverse areas in financial, strategic, and technical roles. The program supports candidates in gaining business partnership knowledge and overall financial foresight at United. Candidates selected for this program will receive continuous growth opportunities outside their direct role through personal and development initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Our mission in Internal Audit is to protect and enable growth across the organization with objective, practical insights, by supervising the risk environment and providing insights to enable effective risk management. Objective of this role is to analyze and assess United’s various operational, financial, regulatory, SOX and accounting audits to protect corporate assets and ensure accurate internal controls are developed and maintained in the company If issues are identified, the Senior auditor is responsible for communicating findings to key partners and offering solutions to improve or change processes and systems to ensure security and compliance.• Responsible for performing various operational, financial, regulatory, SOX and accounting audits to protect corporate assets and ensure accurate internal controls are developed and maintained in the company• Plan, develop and implement an audit program to adequately identify and assess risks• Writes audit programs for risk-based audits that are relevant to United’s control and risk management framework, strategic objectives, and key partner requests• Applies data analysis to draw conclusions• Prepares written communications such as audit reports, partner correspondence, memos and other working papers that detail the procedures performed, findings and conclusions• Communicates, both written and verbally, progress of audit objectives and testing with partners, audit project team members, and/or the Audit Manager on a timely basis• Lead other audit team members in their responsibilities to ensure quality of work and compliance with internal audit standards• Assists with special projects, contracted services and other agreed upon procedures requested of the Internal Audit department• Demonstrates ability to adapt audit approach to changes in the audit plan, company strategy or department goals• Develops and maintains productive client, staff and management relationships through individual contacts and group meetings• Work as a trusted business partner to improve other departments financial, procedural, and/or operational controls through independent, objective assurance and advisory servicesUnited values diverse experiences, perspectives, and we encourage everyone who meets the minimum qualifications to apply. We are always looking for individuals who will bring something new to the table.QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Accounting, Finance or related field• 2-4 years experience in internal audit or public accounting• Knowledge and skill in applying internal auditing principles and practices, with a focus on supporting risk management activities and functions• Knowledge of the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) promulgated by the Institute of Internal Auditors• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively, both in written form and verbally• Ability to understand and present sophisticated processes to various partners• Strong project management skills• Ability to travel domestically or internationally, up to 25%• Strong solid understanding of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook and Access• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the positionWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):• Master's degree• Seeking CPA, CIA or other relevant professional designation• Direct experience in the transportation field• Familiarity with data analytics, visualization and/or dashboard tools, such as Spotfire, PowerBi, SQL, etc.United Airlines is an equal opportunity employer.
