Community Coordinator

Job Description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

- Identify, plan, implement and/or attend networking or other external M/WBE and Section 3 outreach events and programs with the goal of building a robust pool of qualified businesses (may
require travel).
- Conduct Section 3 and M/WBE targeted trainings and one-one meetings with vendors to discuss contracting opportunities and how to do business with NYCHA.
- Prepare and manage outreach communications and guidance documents for current and prospective M/WBE and Section 3 vendors at NYCHA, including communications related to events
and program requirements (e.g., develop flyers, agendas, PowerPoint presentations and event invitations, prepare facilities and ensure necessary equipment is secured, etc.).
- Assist in the design of tailored capacity-building and/or mentorship programming and guidance materials to support the growth, certification, and success of M/WBEs and Section 3 businesses.
- Attend and conduct meetings regarding M/WBE and Section 3 requirements with various internal stakeholders (e.g., Pre-bid and Proposer’s conferences).
- Serve as a resource to NYCHA internal and external stakeholders on topics related to M/WBE and Section 3 requirements.
- Stay current on M/WBE and Section 3 policies and program requirements at NYCHA, as well as policies at the Federal, State and City level, and assist in updating NYCHA policies as needed.
- Assist with tracking and monitoring contractor compliance with Section 3 and M/WBE requirements.
- Perform analytic or specialized administrative work for the Vendor Diversity Department.
- Liaise with other agencies on public-facing projects.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
