Senior Analyst (Safety Officer)

Welcome to the City of San Jose! We are currently seeking a highly qualified Senior Analyst (Safety Officer) to join our team. This role will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our safety protocols and procedures. We are looking for a driven and experienced professional who is passionate about promoting a culture of safety and risk management. If you are a dedicated individual with a strong background in safety and a desire to make a positive impact in our community, we encourage you to apply.Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.Collaborate with department heads and city officials to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.Create and deliver safety training programs for employees, emphasizing the importance of safety in the workplace.Monitor and analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.Investigate and report on accidents and incidents, making recommendations for corrective actions.Communicate and coordinate with external agencies, such as fire and police departments, to ensure a coordinated response in case of emergencies.Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and recommend changes to safety protocols as needed.Manage safety equipment and supplies, ensuring they are properly maintained and stocked.Serve as a resource and provide guidance to employees on safety-related issues and concerns.Act as a liaison between the city and the community, promoting safety initiatives and addressing any safety concerns raised by residents or visitors.Collaborate with other departments to develop emergency response plans and procedures.Oversee the development and maintenance of safety-related documents and records.Prepare and present safety reports to city officials and stakeholders.Foster a culture of safety and risk management within the city by promoting safety awareness and encouraging safe behaviors among employees and the community.City of San Jose is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
