Plastics: With new technology trends, our plastic additives can be experienced in many everyday items including vinyl, blow-molding bottles, film, rigid containers, PVC plastics, siding, decks and rails, foam pipes and profile formulations, window frames and high-efficiency lubricants.
Industrial intermediates: As the product of a reaction that is beneficial when used as a precursor chemical for another product, industrial intermediates can take on many shapes and forms. Ours are used in home comfort and appliance, building and construction, adhesives, and lubricants, and more.

About You:
Provides specialized technical support and solutions for project teams, operations and maintenance. The Hardware Disciplines within Engineering and Maintenance are comprised of the following disciplines: Buildings, Civil, Electrical, Instrument, Materials, Mechanical, Process Containment Equipment and Piping. Hardware Disciplines support both projects and technical support teams as a technical expert recognized as a “go to” person within their site/region for their area of expertise, or as discipline lead on projects. Acts as a resources for colleagues with less experience and works independently, receiving minimal guidance. In the technical expert capacity, at this level, is primarily involved in application of technology. Resolves problems which are complex. Leads technical problem solving within a specific technology area to deliver value for Dow. Participates on global teams to continuously improve most effective technology (MET) and best practices. In the project lead capacity, has an excellent understanding and applies GPM, MET, their discipline work process and associated best practices to deliver safe, cost effective and efficient solutions that meet the business opportunity plan for both intermediate and large projects.
Your Key Responsibilities / Duties:
In the technical expert capacity:
Leads efforts in defining and implementing technology strategy and held accountable for strategy implementation.
Identifies and develops both technology and work process enhancements which deliver value.
Supports the implementation of discipline technology strategy and provide input/feedback on the strategy within their area of expertise.
Serves as site or regional technology focal point, providing timely technical reviews and input to complex designs and/or variances from MET both on projects and in support of maintenance/operations.
In the project lead capacity:
Serves as the leader of the project within their discipline. Has accountability for project results and for the implementation of and adherence to all relevant work processes and best practices.
Drives front end loading to ensure clear scope definition along with establishing staffing plans and schedules to enable adequate control during execution.
Develops staffing plans, directs activities within their discipline and coordinates activist with other disciplines. For projects which utilize engineering firms, they work with their counterpart at the EPC to do so.
Leads the completion of deliverables provided to estimating and reviews output of the estimate to ensure accurate reflection of scope.
Ensures their deliverables meet the needs of the project: function as intended, on time and within budget.
Leads technical contract package development and supports implementation.
Drives value engineering and economic designs to ensure the best value is delivered to the business
Uses and enforces project change management program.
Ensures safety in design.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
6 or more years of engineering, manufacturing or related experience required.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
