The Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and finance operations and performing cross-functional analysis and research to inform the business and financial strategy of the company, ensuring our products thrive in the ecosystem, and we maintain strong financial standing.

What You Will Do:- Ownership of Civitech’s financial strategy & operations including financial planning & analysis, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, cash management, payroll, stock, expenses, & tax compliance
- Configure and supervise the day-to-day financial operations of the company (account, AR, AP, payroll, stock, employee expenses, etc); support with administration as needed
- Ensure timely completion of monthly financial close & reporting
- Ensure compliance with accepted finance and accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Create & maintain routine & ad hoc financial modeling, reporting, & analysis to enable sound & timely decision making, & inform strategic planning & company policies
- Develop business models and conduct research-based analysis (e.g., pricing and cost analysis, client and competitor evaluations) to make recommendations for Civitech's product development and go to market strategies; rapidly test hypotheses and pivot as needed
- Manage annual financial budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring the annual plan reflects company strategic objectives
- Serve as advisor to executives regarding budget, spending, & other financial matters
- Design and implement improvements to financial processes and systems
- Ensure compliance with federal and state tax requirements
About You:- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Strong modeling & analytical skills, intermediate to advanced spreadsheet proficiency
- Verbal & written communication skills to create & present reports understandable to audiences with various levels of financial expertise
- Capacity to work independently while meeting multiple, competing deadlines with quality deliverables
- Excels as a "department of 1," who performs equally well as a strategic thinker and a consistent and quick executer
- You will have support to complete daily and monthly tasks, but will be expected to complete these tasks when needed.
- Committed to leveraging technology and data products to help Democratic candidates run for office and win, empower progressive causes, and increase civic participation.
Additional Qualifications (desired but not required):- CPA strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Quickbooks Online strongly preferred
- SAAS background preferred

$110,000 - $160,000 a year
Full-time, competitive salary ($110,000-$160,000) commensurate with location and experience.
The Director of Finance reports to our COO and works closely with the CEO and Leadership Team.
Civitech is headquartered in Austin, TX, with employees in 11 states across the country. The Director of Finance can work from our Austin coworking space or remotely in any US location.
