Job Title: Claims Manager


Department: Center Insights Department


Reports to: Senior Director of Center Insights


Full-time Remote – some travel
Exempt


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manage the incident reporting program for ABC with focused attention on teammate injuries.
  • Reviews workers’ compensation claim forms for completeness and accuracy.
  • Evaluates injury reports and works with the carrier to assess compensation and to determine the anticipated cost of each claim.
  • Reviews and explains the workers compensation process, medical treatment, hospitalization, and surgery to teammates.
  • Coordinates payment of medical bills, disability compensation, and temporary income benefits with injured teammate and payroll.
  • Maintains records, files, and databases of claims; prepares summary reports of collected data.
  • Provides supervisors and employees with information and training regarding workers’ compensation benefits.
  • Explains proper management of workers’ compensation claims to staff.
  • Directs safety resources to the centers trending upward to proactively manage claims.
  • Live ABC mission + values and maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least five years related experience with workers’ compensation claims required.
  • Completion of a certificate course in workers’ compensation administration or similar training required.
  • Workers Compensation claims adjuster license in Texas preferred.


Required Skills and Abilities
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of applicable workers’ compensation laws, procedures, and regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of medical and technical terminology used in workers’ compensation cases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations to explain rules and policies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to travel to various worksites to provide training.
