Come join us as a Cloud Data Architect, and in this role, you will deliver creative business solutions to our market-leading clients in the life sciences, consumer products, and retail industries.Together, we can find the answers to our clients’ most challenging business problems through a combination of our industry expertise, business process knowledge, and consulting excellence.What You’ll DoAs a Cloud Data Architect at Clarkston, you will:Work with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, and vendorsDisplay advanced analytical and conceptual skills to create original concepts for various projectsDesign and develop platforms for scalable solutionsProvide forward-thinking technical expertise in current and emerging technologies, trends, and practicesDesign, prototype, and develop cloud data platforms utilizing Azure or AWSTranslate business goals and objectives into architectural strategies and technical solutionsDevelop and apply architectural governance based on business and information technology strategiesAnticipate internal/external business challenges, including regulatory, and recommend process, product, or service enhancementsProvide forward thinking technical expertise in current and emerging technologies, trends and practicesServe in a lead capacity on client initiativesMentor junior Data Architects and Data Engineers on Clarkston’s analytics teamAssist in defining and managing client solutionsHow You’ll GrowBeyond your day-to-day responsibilities, throughout your career at Clarkston you will:Have the support and mentorship of your Clarkston colleagues and leadersExpand your existing skillset with internal and external professional development opportunitiesRequirementsWhat We’re Looking For:Experience with data management solutions using data lake platform tools and technologiesExperience with data architecture, specifically in support of data warehousing, business intelligence, master data management, and reference data managementFamiliarity with delivering Data as a Service (DaaS) concepts from enterprise repositories using REST APIsFamiliarity with Azure or AWS-based data and data management toolsFamiliarity with microservices architectureFamiliarity with data integration points for TOGAF (or other recognized architecture framework)Working knowledge of development or operations framework methodologies, including Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), etc.Familiarity with developing data catalogues and integrating with existing enterprise architectureFamiliarity with cloud data platforms and process automationExperience with Snowflake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, or related technologies.Experience in using various data modeling techniques and their appropriate usage in data integrationExperience in working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, and vendorsSignificant experience in performing analysis of business processes and functionsSignificant experience in work as an engineer or technical subject matter expert in two or more of the following areas: infrastructure, data, application, security related technologyEffective skill in creating system diagrams for review by both technical and non-technical audiencesAdvanced analytical and conceptual skills to create original concepts/theories for various projectsEffective skill in applying innovative approaches to solve technical design issues4-year degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or an equivalent disciplineTravel RequirementTravel is an integral part of this role and is estimated to average 30-50%. This may vary based upon client and project needs. When not traveling, consultants work from their home office.
