Clever is looking for a Sr. People Business Partner to join our People Team. Clever’s People team is dedicated to fostering an equitable organization where everyone can grow and thrive. As a Sr. People Business Partner, you’ll be responsible for managing operations related to benefits and perks, compliance, HRIS management, people analytics, and leave management. You will be a key member of a high performing, collaborative team, driving critical programs for our employees and serving as a valued partner to leaders.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
Benefits/Perks:
- Oversee day-to-day benefits operations, including:
- Liaising with benefits brokers, enrollment platforms and carriers.
- Addressing employee questions and resolving issues.
- Reviewing benefits options with new hires and guiding them through the enrollment process.
- Maintaining and updating internal knowledge pages about benefits and perks.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of People on annual benefits renewal strategy.
- Lead the annual open enrollment process including creating enrollment profiles in ADP, running completion reports, and managing employee education campaigns and communications.
Compliance:
- Manage the compliance calendar for multistate requirements, ensuring timely completion of all reporting, such as EEO-1, nondiscrimination testing, ACA reporting, etc.
- Support the Finance and Legal team with audits and other compliance-related projects.
HRIS/People Analytics:
- Maintain the HRIS system to ensure data accuracy.
- Generate timely reports for internal stakeholders.
- Develop dashboards and other data analysis tools to support the Director of People with OKR tracking and business reviews.
- Evaluate new tools and offerings, integrations, and enterprise-wide solutions.
General People Operations:
- Drive process improvement across the People Operations function.
- Design and refine company employee policies; ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
- Manage employee offboarding processes within the HRIS.
- Collaborate with the finance team on payroll, unemployment claims, and leave management.
- Oversee leave programs and associated documentation (parental, medical, sabbatical).
- Support the Director of People with compensation planning and employee relations.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- 5+ years of experience in Human Resources/People Operations, with specific expertise in benefits and compliance.
- Strong understanding of HRIS systems and experience handling sensitive employee information. Familiarity with ADP, HiBob and/or Navia is a plus.
- Customer service orientation, with a focus on responding promptly and effectively to employees.
- Commitment to operational excellence and accuracy.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to balance routine administrative tasks with strategic partnership work.
- Comfort with HR metrics and dashboards.
- Bias towards execution, while ensuring a clear understanding of context.
- Deep sense of empathy and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across diverse groups.
- Experience in employee relations and/or compensation is a plus.

SALARY TRANSPARENCY:
The range of our base salary cash compensation for this role for candidates living in the United States, besides NYC and San Francisco, CA, is between $125,000 - $150,000. For candidates living in NYC and San Francisco, CA is between $140,000 - $165,000. All final offers are determined using multiple factors including experience and level of expertise.
