Our Newest Opportunity:
The Advocate Associate is responsible for assisting clients’ employees with questions regarding general eligibility, ID cards requests, invoicing, ensuring accuracy in carrier billing eligibility, explaining benefit plan options, providing benefit plan documents, and confirming basic benefit plan information. The CA Associate serves as the direct point of contact for these employees and handles incoming phone calls and emails as needed. They will work under the direction of the Client Advocate and collaboratively as part of an internal team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Assist clients and their employees with various benefit questions which may include:
    • Finding network participating physicians/facilities
    • Understanding benefit plans
    • Resolving transition of care issues
    • Confirming the member cost-share under their plan
  • Completing annual employee survey reports
  • Provide ongoing client billing and eligibility support including:
    • New hire processing
    • Qualifying event processing
    • Eligibility verifications & corrections
    • ID card orders
    • PCP updates and medical group confirmations
    • Carrier online access setup
    • Retrieving carrier invoices
  • Ensure the protection and security of a consumer’s personal, confidential, and identifiable information in a professional and responsible manner, according to the standards and requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Contributes to overall Team goals and objectives through Team participation and the sharing of individual skills and strengths
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective relationship builder
  • Proficiency with computer programs, specifically Microsoft Office
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt easily to change and a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented approach to work
  • Ability to effectively manage high volumes of work
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and multi‐task effectively
Education, Training and Experience:
  • College degree, preferred
  • Previous experience working in insurance/employee benefits, preferred
  • Previous office experience, preferred
  • Valid California Life and health license, required within 90 days
  • Experience with Benefits Administration Systems, preferred
Other:
License required after 90 days
