THE ROLE: The Client Service Manager will be the primary point of contact for dedicated clients that have large, ongoing contracts or clients that have been identified as an Assessment Services strategic account in California. In this role, the incumbent will serve as a trusted technical advisor and be accountable for developing deep, consultative relationships with their strategic clients while ensuring Xylem provides quality delivery of services and technical reports per the terms of the contract and the ongoing needs of the client. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans in collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including clients.
  • Manage contracts, planning and other documents, and various reports to ensure compliance within defined processes.
  • Establish and nurture deep, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders at various levels within client organizations, internal corporate departments, and industry associations with a focus on a consultative approach.
  • Leverage technical pipeline management expertise to navigate various technical discussions with clients, building trust and credibility.
  • Develop a deep understanding of their clients’ business and strategic goals and ensure Xylem contributes positively to those goals.
  • Act as a client advocate and promote client programs within the industry, at workshops, and at regional conferences.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members and peers, while prioritizing client satisfaction.
  • Monitor current contracts, spend to date, and NTE limits, and ensure successful completion of task orders
  • Contribute to Xylem's strategic growth by achieving defined year-over-year revenue goals.
  • Success in this role requires exceptional communication and collaboration skills, a deep understanding of the technical aspects of pipeline management, and a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or technical discipline, preferred
  • Professional Engineering designation and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) designation; preferred
  • 5+ years engineering/technical consulting/client facing experience required; preferably with pipes/utilities
  • Field and project management experience considered an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in contract review and delivery, budget management, typically gained through experience managing clients with large ongoing contracts or key accounts and expanding work into new areas/new clients
  • Ability to develop and maintain short- and long-term account plans
  • Ability to manage key stakeholder interests, internally and externally, while at the same time managing conflicting priorities and business interests while keeping client needs at the forefront
  • Demonstrates strong communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, including the proven ability to mentor and informally lead others, conflict and issue resolution and ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills plus the ability to think laterally while offering creative solutions
  • Ability to work logically and systematically, with good time management
  • Proactive with a high level of attention to detail

DAY IN THE LIFE:

In this role, the working environment is primarily a standard office environment with periodic field visits to scope or observe inspection work. In addition, this role will require travel to meet clients, observe worksites, attend industry conferences and contribute to internal meetings.

SALARY:

The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $135,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
