Job Overview

We are looking for software engineers experienced in natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML) to join the product-focused Core AI team of Clinc. Members of the Core AI engineering team are expected to not only understand, wield, and build on top of our conversational system, but also to be able to use existing research or conduct new high-impact research to push the limits of our conversational capabilities. The Core AI team's projects stem from problems encountered during real-life use cases, and have a direct impact on the company’s product, as well as the end customer’s experience. As a member of the Core AI team, you will also have opportunities to publish findings in top-tier peer-reviewed NLP venues.

• Work with research engineers on the Core AI team to design, implement and transfer research projects into production. 
• Implement and oversee experiments on AI tools, techniques, and models. 
• Design and implement infrastructure to facilitate AI research and evaluation. 
• Work with research engineers to support collaborative, solution-oriented (customer-facing in some cases) research projects. Implement prototypes and early instances of research projects/tools for internal/beta use. 
• Maintain and optimize company’s conversational AI platform. 
• Implement AI platform features using Python, Javascript, node.js. 
• Work with Tensorflow, PyTorch, Django, MySQL, Elasticsearch, and Docker. 
• Work in UNIX-based development and runtime environments. 
• Develop and deploy backend or full-stack software products. 
• Experience in: Text Classification, Slot-Filling Models, Conversational Dialog Systems, Information Retrieval, Relation Extraction, Question-Answering Systems, Language Modeling, Language Generation. 
• Present completed work to project stakeholders at sprint demos. 
• Peer review software and provide constructive feedback. 
• Stay up to date on emerging application development technologies. 
• Determine project scope and level of effort for projects, managing deliverables to a deadline. 
• M.S. in Computer Science, Business Analytics or closely related and 12 months exp as a Software Developer/Engineer. 
• 12 mon. in:
• Python; Javascript; Docker; MySQL/NoSQL; RESTful APIs; Text Classification; TensorFlow; Conversational AI; Py/Torch; 
• Information Retrieval. 

• M.S. in Computer Science, Business Analytics or closely related and 12 months exp as a Software Developer/Engineer.
