Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital is a 35-bed rural acute care hospital located in Waimea (Kamuela), Hawaii Island. More than 300 employees and over a dozen employed physicians staff the main hospital, as well the outpatient clinics located in the Lucy Henriques Medical Center, at our Primary Care Clinic located near Longs Drugs, and at our Specialty Clinic located in the Parker Ranch Center.

Responsibilities
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads the coordination, implementation and evaluation of clinical informatics activities in accordance with service line’s goals and objectives and mission of Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital, The Queen’s Medical Center (QMC) and The Queen’s Health Systems (QHS).
- Serves as a resource for Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital for assessing and planning clinical informatics or health information technology needs.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Required: finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, sitting.
- Frequent: walking.
- Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, lifting and carrying usual weight of 1 pound up to 5 pounds (e.g. folders/paper products/office supplies), reaching above, at and below shoulder level.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
- Current Hawaii State license as a Registered Nurse.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Master’s degree in Nursing highly desirable.
B. EXPERIENCE:
- Combination of three (3) years nursing experience with at least one (1) year clinical informatics experience.
- Prior experience in a lead/supervisory role.
- Experience to demonstrate:
o Knowledge and demonstrated experience with electronic medical records (preferably Epic), clinical informatics, computer word-processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications.
o Strong sense of customer service to consistently and effectively address business and clinical partners’ needs.
o Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities and direction in projects and core work.
o Enjoys participating in a collaborative work environment partnering with colleagues inside and outside of own department.
o Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
o Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with health care regulatory and clinical quality measurements frameworks such as NCQA HEDIS, Meaningful Use, PQRS, OPPE, CORE measures, etc. preferred.
- Experience with, or exposure to, information technology best practices and application of standard information technology data and programming principles, theories, and concepts (e.g. requirements documentation, source code control, change management, promotions, and segregation of duties) preferred.
- Experience to demonstrate broad understanding of health information technologies preferred.
