Conducts research assessments and procedures. Recruits, screens, and enrolls eligible participants in studies; escorts participants to research scanning sites. Updates databases for registry assessments and clinical trial forms.
Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement. This position is located at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville. PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required prior to the start of employment. Essential Functions • Conducts research assessments/procedures, including obtain vital signs and brief medical histories, process specimens using centrifuge, perform phlebotomy, prepare samples for shipment, and assist with other clinical procedures as directed. • Recruits, screens, and enrolls research participants via telephone. Follows up with study participants to schedule appointments and maintain study retention. • Reviews participants medical records, collects and codes surveys, and verifies active status for participants. • Attends relevant meetings, and provides detailed written and verbal reports on participant status. • Collects pertinent information and updates data bases for registry assessments and clinical trial forms. • Escorts subjects/participants to research scanning sites. • Maintains and organizes laboratory and related study supplies.
Physical Effort Typing and use of general office equipment. Maximum lifting and/or carrying of up to 20 lbs., with walking and standing occasionally.
