The Opportunity

At Clutch, our Data team is at the heart of our data-driven decision-making, responsible for empowering the organization with insights, analytics, and advanced data solutions.

As the Director of Data, you'll be instrumental in shaping our data strategy and leading a high-performing team toward our organizational objectives. You'll have the opportunity to build this new team from the ground up, leveraging existing talent and strategic hires. Expect to be hands-on in the initial stages as we establish this team.

You'll be responsible for:

• Building and leading a new team of data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists to deliver high-quality data solutions.

• Driving the vision and strategy for Clutch’s data platform, ensuring it supports our analytical and data science needs.

• Implementing best practices for data management, including data governance, quality, and security.

• Managing resource allocation, project timelines, and team capacity to meet organizational objectives.

• Effectively communicating data concepts and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Collaborating with engineering leadership, product managers, and stakeholders to prioritize projects and align team efforts with company goals.

• Recruiting, developing, and retaining top data talent, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Skillset you will bring:

• Proven experience in a senior data leadership role, preferably in a SaaS or fintech environment.

• Strong background in data engineering, data analytics, and data science.

• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing data teams.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• A passion for innovation and staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies, including AI and machine learning.

It will be nice if you have:

• Previous experience leading the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of a data platform from initial concept to production readiness.

• Experience with our tech stack: Databricks, Python, PostgreSQL and AWS.

• Previous experience in a B2B SaaS startup or fintech environment.
