Coding and LEGO Instructor

WHO ARE WE?

We teach kids how to code. Kids ages 7-14 learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way – by playing and building video games they love. Kids have blast and can’t wait to come back. Parents are thrilled as their children gain confidence and new skills including coding, math, logic, and problem-solving.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Instructors need to have a passion for teaching and a desire to watch students grow. Instructors will be provided weekly lesson plans and guidance.

2. Instructors should be high energy. Classes are activity based with games designed to build communication skills and strengthen confidence.

3. Help students develop confidence. Work with children to determine skill sets.

4. Work through the curriculum to anticipate and provide guidance to students as necessary

5. Report daily to Manager with respect to day’s activities

6. Applicants must do live scan fingerprinting (paid for by employer) and be cleared before working.

7. Applicants must complete a TB test (paid for by employer).

EXPERIENCE:

1. Applicants must have some experience in teaching, mentoring or child care

2. Works well with others; collaborates

3. Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or sharp enough to quickly pick up the basic concepts

4. Must be fun to work with and like working in fast-paced environments where requirements can change frequently

5. JavaScript, Scratch Exp Required

6. LAST BUT NOT LEAST MUST HAVE CODING BACKGROUND.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Mon, Tue, Wed, Thurs, Fri - 3:15 - 4:15 pm

WORK LOCATIONS:

This position requires commuting to different school sites- We offer a gas stipend!

HOURLY RATE:

$21.00/hour.

One-hour class sessions but will be paid for 1.5 hours (paid an extra 15 minutes before and after each class).

PAID MILEAGE:

We will pay daily rates for mileage of $10 to $20, based on the distance driving ($10 daily, or $15 if drive is 15+ miles from home to school, or $20 if drive is 20+ miles from home to school).
