Android Engineer

Android EngineerCognizant’s Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified Android Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications, ensuring a seamless user experience and robust performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in Android development and a passion for creating innovative solutions.- You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.Location: Minneapolis, MN or Dallas, TX.• Candidate is required to be in the office 5 days a week*Roles:· Experience in code governance and quality metrics· Strong experience in designing and developing native Android frameworks· Excellent programming skills in Java/Kotlin· Experience with Android SDK performance tools, and optimization· Strong object-oriented programming and design skills· Experience with Dagger, RX Java and MVVM architecture patterns· Considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs.· Looks for opportunities to simplify product & technical design.· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Required qualifications:· 5 to 7 years of experience developing and implementing Android native applications for mobile phones, and tablets· Demonstrated success in delivering complex full stack mobile applications across native and server-side components· Familiarity with version control systems (Git)· Familiarity with build systems (Gradle, maven...), CI tools (Jenkins, Artifactory, Nexus)· Skills in problem solving and algorithm’s ability to switch among multiple projects, multiple languages, and multiple IDEs in short periods of time (and sometime in the same period)· Demonstrated interest in learning new technologies· Familiarity with Agile methodologies (especially Scrum)· Experience in Enterprise Software Development· Passion for creating world class mobile user experience· Direct work in applications that serve a very large number of users along with handling highly secure informationApplications will be accepted until 09/25/2024.This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.Benefits: Cognizant offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:- Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance- Paid holidays plus Paid Time Off- 401(k) plan and contributions- Long-term/Short-term Disability- Paid Parental Leave- Employee Stock Purchase PlanDisclaimer: The salary, other compensation, and benefits information is accurate as of the date of this posting.
