The Financial Crimes Compliance Governance Senior Associate will be responsible for the development, maintenance, tracking and reporting of Management Information across the BSA/AML and Sanctions program, inclusive of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). In this capacity, the role will be broadly responsible for supporting Coinbase in its mission to create an open financial system while ensuring that Coinbase remains the most trusted and compliant exchange. The role will be responsible for using raw data across multiple systems and stakeholders to create timely, accurate and visually engaging reports to illustrate historical trends of risks and mitigating controls. The role will also assist in the execution of the Financial Crime Risk Assessment through production, cleansing and analysis of data as well as facilitating the automation of Risk Assessment data requirements in order to provide specific metrics around risks and controls. The role will assist in ad-hoc analysis requests of new products/services to better understand impact to Risk Assessment factors. In addition, the role will also work on efforts pertaining to the Governance team, including tracking and reporting of internal and external identified issues; creation, update and maintenance of policies, procedures, and other governing documentation; and acting as cross-functional liaison to teams outside Financial Crime Compliance. The role will also help to build new and maintain existing management reporting. The Financial Crime Compliance Governance Senior Associate will report to the Global Head of AML Governance & Controls and will work with AML Compliance and cross-functional stakeholders to define, develop and track key Compliance risk and performance metrics that enable risk management and decision-making. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining manual reporting, as necessary, with the goal of developing standardized, automated dashboards to monitor KPIs/KRIs and produce trend reporting to evaluate alerts, cases, SARs, overall transaction volumes, and user growth. This role will work with key stakeholders in AML Compliance and cross-functionally with relevant stakeholders in Customer Experience and Compliance Tools & Analytics to ensure timely collection of data, reporting of metrics, and escalation of risks and issues, as necessary. In addition, the Financial Crimes Compliance Governance Senior Associate will prepare reporting for Senior Management, the Board, and regulators. As the team lead for MIS across the BSA/AML/Sanctions program, you will also be required to assist with other Governance activities such as creating and updating reporting procedures documentation. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient at metrics definition and design, reporting development, and analysis, highly organized and detail-oriented, experienced in anti-money laundering and/or sanctions compliance at a financial institution, and have solid, foundational knowledge of AML regulations (e.g., BSA, 4MLD, OFAC Sanctions, FinCEN CDD Rule, etc.) and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will also understand the quality and representation of reporting expected by different audiences and levels of seniority (i.e. internal reporting, senior management, board reporting, etc.). The ideal candidate should excel at using engaging visual representations of data to tell a story. What you'll be doing (ie. job duties):
Develop actionable management information systems reporting across AML and Sanctions workstreams, including developing key risk and performance metrics, thresholds, and associated management reporting procedures. Drive accurate and effective risk reporting and data-driven decision-making, including regulatory reporting, trending, projections, and identification of AML and Sanctions risk-tolerance breaches. Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of data used to prepare and report various metrics using PowerPoint/Google Slides and Excel. Lead the timely delivery of all BSA/OFAC MIS reporting to internal BSA/OFAC and external stakeholders. Maintain and update procedures documentation, as necessary. What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in KYC, AML, and or/sanctions compliance at a financial institution, bank, fintech, or consulting firm. Knowledge of BSA/AML regulations and other relevant regulations and regulatory guidance (e.g., BSA, 4MLD, OFAC Sanctions, FinCEN CDD Rule, etc.). Solid knowledge of data analytics and reporting. Proven experience in AML program management or KPI/KRI metrics development and creation of executive/board-level reporting. Strong project management and leadership skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Powerpoint/Google Slides and Excel/Google Sheets. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and ability to think on your feet and present multiple solution options. Ability to prioritize, manage and resolve multiple complex and critical issues. Highly organized and adept at managing competing priorities, collaboration with diverse stakeholder groups, and ambiguity in a high pressure environment. Needs to be able to work unsupervised with limited direction from management. Nice to haves:
Experience with AML or Sanctions Risk Assessments. Experience with Redash or similar Dashboard creation platform/tool. Experience with Google Data Studio. Experience with and interest in cryptocurrency. Experience with cryptocurrency regulation.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K

Auditing & ComplianceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications
