• Come build the definitive membership for crypto! We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Coinbase One Account Protection team under the new Trust & Loyalty pillar. CB1 redefines what it means to be a member of the crypto community by providing an array of unparalleled benefits like zero trading fees, boosted staking rewards, and priority support to members and Account Protection is the latest product in the CB1 suite enabling Coinbase to stand behind its commitment of being the most trusted and secure financial platform.
Our vision is to create the Amazon Prime experience for all Coinbase users, by creating a membership that users can’t afford not to get, and becomes a reason users choose Coinbase over all other competitors. As a Senior Software Engineer on our team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of crypto memberships. The 2024 Account Protection roadmap includes building a new revenue-driving product from scratch that provides coverage against account takeovers and other malicious activity.
The Trust & Loyalty group encapsulates Coinbase One and operates within the Consumer Product Group under multiple pods: Member Experience, Growth, Platform, Account Protection and High Net-worth Individuals.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
• Build new features to meet critical product and business needs in React (& React Native). Many features will be built from zero-to-one as Account Protection is a brand new product surface.
• Architecting and implementing technical solutions that are highly available, scalable and maintainable in the long-term.
• Lead a growing team, mentor new engineers, and scale operational best practices.
• Build design treatments and experimental control flow to support experimental UX.
• Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers.
• Work with engineers, designers, product managers and senior leadership to turn our product and technical vision into a tangible roadmap.
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
• You have at least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• Experienced in JavaScript (React & Typescript), HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with GraphQL and React Relay for data fetching & rendering.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to effectively communicate ideas and solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with modern debugging tools and techniques.
• A bias towards customer focus that results in high quality, well tested code.
• A proclivity towards operational excellence and observability with creating dashboards and monitors
Nice to haves:
• Experience working with subscription services and/or a benefits platform – tiered plans, recurring payments, incentives, etc.
• Experience with application security (2FA, account takeover).
• Experience working closely with CX and customer reporting tools.
• Familiarity with backend systems, architecture and languages such as GoLang.
• Experience with Figma or similar design tools.
• Experience with EsLint, Prettier, Webpack, Babel.
• Experience with Relay (GQL framework).
