The Opportunity
The Junior Product Counsel will support our product, engineering, and compliance teams by providing legal guidance on a variety of issues related to the development and launch of our crypto products and services, with a particular focus on prime brokerage and trading activities. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and has a strong interest in cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, and fintech.

What you will do:
- Provide legal support for product development teams from ideation to launch, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, particularly those related to prime brokerage and trading.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements, including terms of service, privacy policies, licensing agreements, and trading-related documents.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting the cryptocurrency, prime brokerage, and trading sectors.
- Assist in developing and implementing compliance programs and policies to mitigate legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, compliance, and trading, to address legal and regulatory issues.
- Advise on intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights, related to our products and services.
- Support the legal team in handling corporate governance, risk management, and other general corporate matters.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent from an accredited law school
- 1-3 years of legal experience, preferably with experience in fintech, cryptocurrency, prime brokerage, or trading companies.
- Strong understanding of U.S. and international laws and regulations related to cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, and financial services, with a focus on trading and brokerage activities.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with regulatory compliance in the financial services industry, particularly related to prime brokerage and trading.
- Knowledge of smart contracts, decentralized finance (DeFi), and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
- Previous in-house legal experience or experience working with startups.
