Position Overview:

The Senior Director of Instruction & Operations is a critical role for both the performance and transformation of the Real Estate Ecosystem. This role will work in partnership with the other members of the Real Estate Team to bring to life a consistent student experience across the ecosystem, operational process improvement at the local level, the classroom of the future, instructor quality onboarding and delivery, driving to a common business model across Locally Dominate Brands (LDBs) and the ecosystem, positioning the ecosystem for growth and the business model of the future. This leader has an innate ability to keep a customer orientation and embodies results-oriented approach, paired with a sense of urgency and a passion for complex problem-solving. 


What You'll Do
  • Lead the optimization of instructor recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and delivery of instruction across the ecosystem.
  • Drive brand growth through instructor excellence and collaboration between instruction and product.
  • Establish and set “the tone” for high quality live course (in person or via instruction on livestream) delivery that will be competitive differentiation across all brands.
  • Partner with Brand Leaders to lead culture within the businesses, cascading key strategies and driving local alignment.
  • Focus on refining operational procedures and establish strategic initiatives that enhance our sales, course schedules and operational processes.
  • Develop and execute the playbook for multiple ecosystems operating within a local site, gaining buy-in from other ecosystem leaders.
  • Develop and execute the playbook and SOPs for standardizing operations across Local Dominant Brands. 
  • Develop long-term business strategies and managing the planning of department budgets and objectives (Facilities, Maintenance, Utilities Costs, etc.).
  • Optimize facility utilization and use of transient facilities to maximize market share while managing facilities Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).  Create an aligned “Colibri” classroom footprint.  
  • Guide Scorecards and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), to streamline business processes and enhance productivity and drive rigor in the operations organization. 
  • Partner with Revenue Managers and Real Estate Operations leaders to optimize course schedules, offerings, and COGS.
  • Execute against the Colibri Real Estate Brand strategy, deploying strategy at the local level.
  • Develop a bench of talent within the organization, identifying individuals for new/stretch assignments to grow their skill set and impact the company’s business.
  • Lead culture across our locations with instructor and staff team members and maintain or improve team engagement scores.

  • Optimize the end-to-end student experience to maximize/improve NPS (Net Promoter Score), completion rates, and state exam pass rates across the ecosystem brands.
  • Continuously gather and analyze customer feedback to inform operational improvements and enhance the customer experience.
  • Relentless focus on customer experience and putting high priority on retention and referral.
  • Budget Management
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee all facility contracts and leases, driving the strategy for onsite instruction to develop and promote profitability and market share attainment in combination with facility optimization.
  • Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement budgetary controls to maximize financial performance.
  • Strategic Thinking & Complex Problem Solving
  • Anticipate and identify operational challenges, developing strategic solutions to address them.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Conceptualize, test, prove, and scale the classroom of the future.
  • Analytic Rigor
  • Utilize data and analytics to drive decision-making and operational strategies.
  • Implement metrics and KPIs to measure operational performance, identify trends, and make data-driven improvements.
  • Partner with Revenue Managers and Real Estate Operations leaders to optimize course schedules, offerings, and COGS.
  • Operational Efficiency & Process Orientation
  • Support Six Sigma and Lean business optimization efforts across the real estate ecosystem and internal teams.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize operational processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness at both the local and ecosystem levels.
  • Ensure all processes are documented, standardized, and scalable across the organization.
  • Ability to Quickly Identify Best Practices and Scale
  • Research, identify, and implement industry best practices to improve operational performance.

What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business of related field preferred; applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 
  • Minimum 8+ years of proven experience in an operational management role, with a track record of driving efficiency and process improvements.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience leading customer lifetime value creation.
  • Evidence of “player-coach” with positive track record of hiring and scaling high performing teams.
  • Excellent budget management skills, with a focus on cost-effectiveness and financial performance.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and a knack for identifying and implementing best practices.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • Travel requirement is up to 20%
