Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and clinically knowledgeable Annotation Team Lead to oversee our remote team of annotation specialists in accurately labeling surgical images and videos. This role involves creating ontologies in collaboration with our machine learning (ML) and clinical teams, implementing quality control measures, and ensuring that the data meets the evolving needs of our ML models. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data labeling, a deep understanding of surgical procedures, and the ability to manage remote teams effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Ontology Development: Partner with ML and clinical teams to create precise ontologies for new labeling projects, ensuring alignment with clinical practices and ML objectives.

• Quality Assurance: Develop and enforce stringent quality control protocols to maintain high accuracy and consistency in annotations.

• Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate a remote team of annotation specialists, providing training, feedback, and support to enhance performance and quality.

• Collaboration: Engage in regular discussions with the ML team to align labeled data with model requirements and contribute to the continuous improvement of annotation guidelines based on the latest surgical and AI advancements.

• Performance Monitoring: Oversee team productivity and quality, addressing any issues related to data labeling or technical challenges.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with medical professionals to integrate their direct contributions and ensure comprehensive representation in labeled data.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Proven track record in data labeling and quality assurance, particularly in healthcare or medical imaging. Leadership experience in managing remote annotation teams is essential.

• Clinical Knowledge: Solid understanding of surgical procedures, tools, and medical imaging.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in web-based annotation platforms (e.g., Roboflow, Encord, CVAT, V7) and remote team management tools.

• Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.

• Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective teamwork and stakeholder engagement.

• Learning Agility: Interest in AI applications with a willingness to learn ML concepts.
