JOB DESCRIPTION
This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Culinary Operations for Catering & Retail in the Hogan Campus Center. Responsibilities include the supervision of culinary staff through food preparation, set-up and the service of meals in a retail operation and catered events for students, staff and customers following standard practices and procedures. Assist with the training of staff in all aspects of cooking, preparing and cleaning. Other responsibilities include product ordering, training and maintaining accurate food production/inventory control systems. Must follow and oversee that all recipes, production and service records are in compliance with standardized sanitation and safety practices. Perform other similar or related duties as required or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associates Degree in Occupational Studies /Culinary Arts highly preferred. Five years’ prior experience in supervising a culinary staff for large volume dining and catered events required. Certification in ServSafe (food safety/sanitation) required. Must have experience and training in special allergy meal preparation. Must demonstrate supervisory skills with excellent communication and customer service required. Technical knowledge and experience in FoodPro or related systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel necessary. Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and 100 pounds with assistance.
DAYS & HOURS:
Holy Cross Dining staff are considered Emergency Essential Personnel and are required to report during times of inclement weather. Must be flexible. Schedule may change depending on the needs of the department.
CURRENT SCHEDULE: Sunday – Thursday / 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
TIME COMMITMENT: 40 hours / 52 weeks
