About the Role

As an Applied Scientist at CollegeVine, you will have the opportunity to work alongside exceptional teammates and collaborate directly with our Product teams. You'll contribute to deploying cutting-edge machine learning models, conducting rigorous A/B testing, and solving impactful data challenges. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data science.

  • Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field. Master degree or higher preferred.

  • You enjoy building systems that account for interpretability, messy data, drift, and risk, because you know model accuracy never tells the full story

  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python and SQL; familiar with relational databases and frameworks like Spark.

  • You can translate complex, qualitative business objectives into quantitative frameworks - and translate results back for communication with stakeholders and partners

  • You have a scientist’s mindset - you can recognize when something feels off about data or model results, and are interested in investigating until you discover the underlying causes

  • Ability to move quickly in an environment where requirements may be loosely defined, requiring you to navigate the ambiguity.

  • You are effective collaborating in a fully remote environment
