Compensation Range
Annual Salary: $87,000.00 - $105,000.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)
About This Job
The main purpose of this job is to be responsible for creating and maintaining strategic external partnerships aligned with Commerce Acquiring/Merchant Payments. This person will demonstrate commercial payments and merchant acquiring industry knowledge, will cultivate and be highly collaborative internally with all business line partners, technical team, production team, sales teams as well as Merchant account management.
Essential Functions
• Focus on the initiative to help drive acquisition, retention & portfolio growth for the Merchant and Payments business lines.
• Possess and maintain acquiring industry knowledge regarding platform updates, card brand changes/updates, competitive solutions in market, knowledge of ongoing merchant/acquiring specific risk mitigation for partnerships.
• Required to create and maintain their contact records by use of I360 to afford visibility into the partnership sales process, communications, and long-term sharing of revenue.
• Participate as needed with other sales teams focused on strategic partners and communicate updates of their efforts to the Merchant LOB Sales and AM manager team
• Work as a liaison between Product Development, Provider Partners, and our Implementation team to support technical requirements and be a communications conduit as needed.
• Actively manage client roadmap and resource allocation
• Engage in all facets of our contractual process including ongoing evaluation of revenue sharing workflow and external communication to partners.
• Drive program level applications from both inside the bank, and through several third-party provider channels. This will require work with tech and product teams. Collaboration is key to drive results.
• Create and maintain partnership growth goals and work towards achieving.
• Work closely with our Credit/Risk department to manage the partner and monitor the application/approval program to ensure the optimal approval based on risk (future delivery, brand, high dispute potential, business financial condition and various payment channels.
• Possess and learn embedded payments solutions in place today and be ready to assist in future strategic growth initiatives (partner directed).
• Work to insure optimal training, solution placement, onboarding workflow and ultimate end-user success modeling.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• This role will also perform revenue sharing processes that facilitate and administer payment that are contractually due to strategic partners and span across all commercial payments solutions. This will include beyond Merchant Partner payments, those due to partners on the solutions of AP, HSF, and RC.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities Required
• Strong knowledge of sales process, operational functions, implementation process and business development, related to all Payments solutions.
• Ability to source own leads and ability to negotiate contracts with Fortune 500 Companies
• Ability to travel up to 20%-40%
• Experience working with C-level decision makers and negotiating pricing/contracts
• Experience working closely with Credit/Risk departments.
• Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
• Intermediate to Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or finance or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• 4+ years of specific commercial card, commercial lending, merchant bankcard, business credit card, or sales experience in the areas of sales, marketing and accounting required.

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. At Commerce, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $87,000 to $105,000 annually. This position will be eligible for additional compensation through performance-based incentive plan(s) that will correspond to meeting performance goals.
