Commodities Assistant - Ethanol Plant

Works proactively with the Grains Manager to purchase corn from producers and grain elevators while supporting the goals and objectives of the commodities group and the company.

• Purchases grain from producers and grain elevators in accordance with guidelines provided by the Grains Manager.
• Communicates daily with corn customers as required for contracting grain purchases and scheduling deliveries.
• Enters purchase contracts into the grain operational system.
• Provides documentation and/or daily reports as requested by customers.
• Assists in maintaining documents in accordance with governing agencies.
• Gathers market intelligence from vendors and other outside sources.
• Serves as backup for front desk activities (phone and guests).

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree (or higher level) degree preferred.
• Experience with basic office computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
• Purchasing experience in an agricultural or manufacturing sector preferred.
• Experience providing customer service to farmers, grain elevator personnel, and truck drivers preferred.

The bio-refinery sits on approximately 300 acres and started ethanol production in June 2009.
