Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) has the fastest, lowest cost path to commercial fusion energy.
CFS collaborates with MIT to leverage decades of research combined with groundbreaking new high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet technology. The People Operations Coordinator will be responsible for employee experience including onboarding and
engagement.
This team member will: - Support Employee Onboarding:
- Comprehensive Onboarding: Manage the onboarding process for new hires, both remote and onsite, ensuring a seamless and positive experience
- Point of Contact: Act as a primary resource for new employees, assisting them with pre-employment inquiries and guiding them through their first days
- Logistical Coordination: Handle the logistics involved in bringing new employees on board, including coordination with IT, facilities, and other departments
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires
- HRIS Management: Process new hires within our HRIS (UKG)
- Orientation Delivery: Conduct engaging and informative orientation sessions for new hires, covering company policies, procedures, and culture
- Cross-Location Coordination: Ensure a consistent onboarding experience across various office locations by collaborating with local teams
- I-9 Processing: Oversee the completion and verification of I-9 forms for new hires, ensuring compliance with federal regulations
- Provide People Operations Support:
- Employee Inquiries: Respond promptly to employee questions and concerns, directing them to the appropriate resources as needed
- Special Initiatives: Participate in special projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and improving the overall work environment
- Ad-Hoc Support: Provide support for ad-hoc projects within the People Operations team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
- Team Assistance: Offer general administrative support to the People Operations team, contributing to efficient and effective team operations
The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements:- Associate or Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of Human Resources experience
- Desire to learn, support the culture at CFS, and grow as a part of the People Operations team
- The ability to prioritize the employee experience
- Resiliency to work through challenges with optimism and adaptability
- Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong customer service experience
- Attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
- Ability to take initiative, multitask, manage priorities and work in a fast paced organization
Additional experience and/or qualifications:- HRIS systems; specifically UKG
- Knowledge of basic HR principles
- Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics
- Extended activities such as typing, sitting, etc.
