Job DescriptionJob Description - Graphic Designer (240006V5)Graphic Designer - (240006V5)DescriptionABOUT THIS POSITION:The Secretary of the Commonwealth is seeking a graphic designer for an in-house graphics studio to support multiple divisions within the office. The Graphic Communications Division is responsible for print materials and website visual components for all the divisions of the office including; Elections, Securities, Public Records, Archives and the Commonwealth Museum. Occasional photo and video projects are also performed.Representative Tasks• Design printed materials including brochures, signs, press conference materials, and museum exhibits.• Produce forms using InDesign for export to accessible PDF’s.• Printing and mounting of large-format pieces.• Photography and video shoots• Meet and work with multiple internal clients.• Provide PDFs for in-house printing and work with staff to assure that projects are printed correctly and on time.Knowledges, Skill And Abilities Required• Proficiency in the following hardware:• Apple Mac workstation• Workgroup printers and plotters• ScannersProficiency in the following software programs:• Adobe Creative Cloud Apps (in order of importance)• InDesign• Acrobat• Photoshop• Illustrator• Dreamweaver (including basic HTML, CSS)• Premiere ProMicrosoft Office Knowledge of InDesign to PDF workflow to meet accessibility requirements Knowledge and skill using large format mounting equipment (laminator and cutters) Please provide links to print work portfolio.AboutAbout usThe Secretary of the Commonwealth's office comprises 23 departments across 19 locations around Massachusetts.As the third-ranking constitutional officer in Massachusetts, the Secretary of the Commonwealth serves as the chief election officer, chief information officer, and chief securities regulator in Massachusetts.
