Bechtel is looking for a communications specialist with strong writing skills and judgement who can craft compelling content and distribute it across multiple communications channels. The right candidate for this role will work closely with their global communications colleagues, senior executives, and other departments.

SUMMARY:

The Communications Specialist will be responsible for the development and execution of communication services for two critical teams: Bechtel Enterprises and Construction Workforce Services. The successful candidate will support both internal and external communication plans, implement and measure the success of a wide variety of strategic programs, and support stakeholder engagement efforts through reputational management.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Develop and implement communication strategies and associated communication plans. Strategies will be driven by data and metrics; regularly share progress and opportunities for greater impact.
• Generate story ideas and write and deploy content across internal and external communication channels, including Bechtel.com, the company’s intranet site, emails, social media, and marketing materials.
• Engage and collaborate with project teams to ensure an integrated approach and determine best practice.
• Collaborate with the editorial team to develop assets and materials for different channels of communication.
• Develop communications plans specifically for targeted audiences, ensuring any regional / country specific cultural aspects or nuances are captured.
• Leads the global craft survey and engagement initiative from a communications perspective.
• Maintain positive working relationships with customers, both within the team and externally, ensuring client satisfaction with services provided.
• Improve and maintain internal communication channels.
• Liaise with third parties on joint communications/press releases
• Provide consultative support to management teams on communication best practices, as needed.
• Help build executive profiles for select leaders within the business.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Prior experience working at an agency, news outlet, and/or on corporate communications teams.
• Ability to balance short and long-term priorities and manage simultaneous projects.
• Motivated to proactively identify opportunities and execute with efficiencies.
• Proven ability to operationalize and execute strategic plans.
• Promote a collaborative working environment.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of developing and leading an external content reputation management program using media, blogs, print, video, social media, and advertising.
• Ability to work closely with senior leaders and work effectively across the organization.
• Excellent oral written, and presentation skills.
