Pay for PRN positions is calculated differently than Full-Time, Regular Part-Time, and Part-Time positions. PRN Rates depend on the position and other factors, including years of experience, or shift commitment according to the department policy. PRN differential is added in certain positions.
Position Overview:
Responsible for developing, implementing, and leading an opioid and analgesic stewardship program and overseeing the organization’s drug diversion program. Provides leadership for the Drug Diversion Education, Prevention, Detection and Response Program across the health system. The coordinator ensures the drug diversion program remains robust by coordinating the mining, trending and analysis of data, generating reports, and periodically assessing software tools to improve analytics capabilities. This position also focuses on the safe use of opioids and related medications at CMHS through staff education, policy development, monitoring of prescribing practices, pain rounds, opioid stewardship, and the implementation of best practices and guideline updates. The role will require the investigation and reporting of all controlled substance discrepancies within the health system. The coordinator will work with other health care providers in evaluating and implementing best practices related to opioid prescribing as well as developing metrics to measure safe and effective opioid/analgesic management in the hospital and clinic settings. Developing/revising pain management clinical care guidelines that address opioid/analgesic therapies for acute and chronic pain is a requirement of this position as is the review of analgesic orders in existing and future order sets. Education of staff on opioid/analgesic therapy and drug diversion is also a component of this position.
