Our Marketing & Distribution department is seeking a Community Relations Manager to join our team. This is a hybrid full-time, exempt role.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Community Relations Manager will lead corporate community relations efforts for The Hanover and report to the Assistant Vice President of Community Relations Team. This individual will manage key community partnerships that align to the charitable foundation’s giving strategy. This person is also responsible for overseeing and executing company-wide employee engagement programs and initiatives, as well as employee volunteerism.
He or she will be responsible for leading and motivating employees in the successful execution of all our corporate community relations programs, overseeing the employee giving campaign, tracking the community relations budget, acting as a trusted partner or liaison to the community, and work with key stakeholders across the organization to influence and ensure active engagement and alignment to the company’s strategic priorities, social responsibility, IDE/BRG goals and CARE values. The Community Relations Manager provides insight and updates on the overall function, including internal and external impact for the community, employee engagement and volunteer programs.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Serve as a relationship manager for The Hanover’s major community partnerships of
- Organize and implement community relations and employee engagement plans for assigned programs and initiatives
- Leads the Annual Employee Giving Campaign enterprise-wide sustaining high-level participation
- Fosters a working alignment across our Business Resource Groups to support The Hanover’s IDE strategic priorities
- Contributes to The Hanover’s ESG annual GRI metrics and reporting to sustain forward movement in our social objectives
- Oversee program execution, including communication and impact reporting.
- Act as a trusted partner who provides value across the organization through the ability to lead initiatives, influence stakeholders, deliver measurable results, and foster an innovative and inclusive workplace.
- Interact with businesses and corporate functions on assigned programs and opportunities, identify, recruiting and managing employee volunteers
- Manage Corporate Relations budget and financial program element; monitor, report and sustain fiduciary compliance
- Establish clear goals that include benchmarking and metrics for measuring effectiveness across community and employee engagement programs.
- Work effectively with internal and external communication teams to promote The Hanover in the local community
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive board readiness and volunteer engagement programs that includes board readiness, mission focused team building, and volunteer opportunities - tool kit that empowers employees to engage locally within their own communities.
- Manages all corporate benefits that are aligned with community partnerships (season tickets, events participation and in-kind donations).
- Manage and oversight of community relations led employee engagement programming and key initiatives
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Event Planning, or equivalent areas of applied experience
- 7+ years of experience working in a community relations or engagement role
- Proven experience in developing corporate and community relations programs
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated skill in building and maintaining external community partnerships
- Strong ability to build relationships, engage, influence, and manage stakeholders at all levels within an organization
- Developed experience building and leading teams
- Proven experience communicating with all levels of leadership; exhibits a recognizable, confident, and reputable presence
- Effective communication skills, verbal, written and presentation (public speaking)
- Ability to manage multiple programs/projects while remaining flexible or agile to changing priorities
- Strong organizational and follow through skills, with attention to detail
- Strong analytic and measurement skills
- Creative and community minded leader
- Empathetic and sincere collaborator; influencer of people and peers
