Senior Regulatory Manager

Compass Reg supports leading agriculture companies to simplify their regulatory work, helping them bring new products to the farmers who need them. We tackle regulatory challenges in a unique way, leveraging a modern software platform that increases automation, security, and organization of regulatory work plus a team of deep regulatory experts who support our customers in navigating the complex, evolving regulatory landscape. We then make that critical data available to product users across the industry, from retailers to farm technology providers.

A nimble, quickly-growing startup based in the Bay Area, Compass is backed by top-tier investors including Inspired Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, Cavallo Ventures (Wilbur-Ellis), Fika Ventures, and Twine Ventures.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Partner with Compass customers to understand their products and provide clear advice on the regulatory requirements and timelines to commercialize their products

  • Develop registration strategies in line with client commercial objectives including identification of potential regulatory hurdles and mitigation strategies

  • Obtain EPA and State registrations of pesticides and/or biopesticide products including development, preparation and submission of registration dossiers

  • Manage regulatory studies conducted with 3rd party collaborators and ensure they are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements and timeline

  • Cultivate strong client relationships through timely communication and exceptional service

  • Help expand Compass’ client base; support product demos, introductory calls, networking at conferences

  • Keep abreast of evolving regulatory landscape and proactively communicate potential impacts on Client authorizations

  • Represent Compass in regulatory/industry associations and conferences

  • Manage client regulatory activities in the Compass platform

  • Develop product expertise and provide continual feedback to the engineering team to improve the products functionality and user interface

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a scientific discipline required

  • 5-8 years experience in agricultural input regulatory, with deep understanding of the regulatory framework for registration of biological, fertilizer, and pesticide products

  • Experience communicating with regulatory agencies

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
